Hi Reader,

All too often, pain and dysfunction are a direct result from your exercise program. Folks come in my office with injuries that have occurred at the gym, yoga class, running, tennis, golf, or just plain walking. Let's take a closer look at how you can exercise and be safe too.

Exercise: The Dark Side

Whether it's a specific action or repetitive movements, you gotta take full responsibility for what you do with your body. The bottom line is what can heal can hurt you.

And it's not just pain and injuries that can be the result of, it's nutritional depletion do to free radical damage that occurs with all cardio exercise activities. So let's dive into this a little and find some solutions and preventative measures you can take to stay balanced and to stay safe.

5 Tips to Exercise Safety

Here's a time-tested strategy but you really have to step back from what you are doing and think your activities through. Here's the rub... we just get into routines and not paying attention or not knowing how to pay attention to the last 2 tips. Since most exercise involves complex activities, it's difficult to hear your body when working out... until it too late.

Here's What We Suggest?

  1. #1... Ask yourself what do I really want to accomplish with my exercise?
  2. Mix it up... a balance of strengthening and stretching is a good start.
  3. Raise your hand for help. Consider getting a coach or a trainer to evaluate what you are doing.
  4. Your greatest source of free radicals in the body is from your own respiration. If you do a lot of cardio, consider micronutrient testing to assess what specific nutrients you need.
